Some of the classic Sudoku puzzles in this test were far more difficult than the assigned point values, and indeed more difficult than some of the fancy variations. I felt the variants were good though; no complaints in this section.
I had a different experience and I felt the classic sudokus (especially the 10 pointer) were easier compared to the assigned points.

How well did the variants represent the theme of the test ? variations represented the theme well
What was your opinion of the distribution of easy/hard puzzles? Just right
What did you think about the puzzle quality of the test? Very nice
Which set of puzzles did you like the most? Toroidal Sudoku
Of the puzzles you solved/attempted, how well did the point values reflect the difficulty? Most puzzles were worth the right amount

I felt the 6x6 ones (and 8x8 one) were fair, but the 9x9 ones were too tricky for their value. I usually don't have any problems with the classic 9x9s so was surprised here by this.

I like Instructionless the most. I couldn't solve it in time, but after the test I enjoyed it so much. Good techniques were used in both of them.

Nice set of sudokus, thanks !

I crashed the toroidal sudoku, loosing 13 minutes between trying to fix my mistake and solving it entirely again after the first strategy wasn't successful.
Thanks for the whole sudoku mahabharat series, it was fun, even if designed first for indian players.

Very nice puzzles, but felt its on the harder side.
Really liked some of the solving paths here... top quality puzzles.

My favourites were both the Instructionless ones and the Scattered 9x9.

It was a wonderful experience creating sudokus for the test. Thank you so much Deb for giving me this opportunity. We had very less time (approx 10 days) to finalise a lot of things . So this is what we could actually come up with . I am glad so many participants liked it. Deb has made a mistake by crediting me with instructionless 9x11. It was 90% his effort and 10% mine. I would also like to thank Ashish Kumar for actually making me believe that I can create Sudokus when I had just started creating. Thanks Ashish .

It is good to see that many indians are not only improving themselves in the solve but also in the authoring side. Many indians have contibuted their puzzles for the first time in SM and the response was quite impressive. I believe its because of the passion they have for puzzles which takes them to such a level. Same passion I saw in Akash and it was him who took an effort to get into creation side and achieved this level. I did nothing to make him create but just his interest towards creation was more than the motivation from my side.

Really nice contest. I didn't really do that well, I just missed too many easy deductions on the day, but I still enjoyed it. Its really nice to see a new author emerging during SM and not only that but taking on the responsibility to contribute a significant portion of the round. Well done Akash, and also Gaurav, the other first time author. I thought the two Scattered Sudokus had some lovely patterns and logic and thats my favorite section. Amit's one contribution was really nice too :P All in all, a great way to end the online segment of SM.

Added note - The fact that 35 solvers finished shows me this wasn't too hard. I think Irregular variations take more practice and exposure to get used to and so beginners will feel they are tougher (i.e. the difference between an experienced solver and a beginner is probably more pronounced here). There are also a lot of implied deductions that come with irregular areas and in-out strategies and so on. I encourage beginners to ask about specific Sudokus where they're stuck in this round, there may be unfamiliar insights which help in the future. Also, very well done to Rakesh, that's an impressive result!

Thanks for all the feedback. It will surely keep us going and in future we would be able to do more contributions.
For me the hero of the show is DEB, He has just amazing amount of patience with us and nice suggestions that it improved us (Akash will agree with me surely :) ) to this level where everyone is appreciating us. Deb thanks for all the support and the work you do behind the scene is commendable.
Another one is definitely Akash who has done tremendous job and is major contributor in this episode.

Creating a simple Sudoku was distant dream to me until we had Sudoku meets and there all of you (Prasanna, Rohan, Amit, Deb, Rishi) helped all of new comers like me.
Prasanna thanks for giving the chance to contribute at this stage and believing on me throughout.

Thanks all participants and Congratulations to Rohan, Rakesh and Kishore for impressive performances and taking top 3 positions in India. Congratulations to Tiit, Jaku and Janoslaw for taking top 3 positions overall.

Looking forward for more contribution in future.

In Sudoku Mahabharat, Toroidal Variant (15). For one interchange all points are lost. Is there any consideration for minor errors in solution.
