2021 World Sudoku+Puzzle Convention Organizer Posts: 1780 Location: India | We are planning another meet in Bangalore. This time, we hope to adhere to a schedule. After this, the plan is to move to a monthly meet schedule. We are having this one so soon after the last one so that we can make a structure official and get it working. Here's the tentative schedule for the meet. The parts in bold are what we hope to keep consistent across the meets. The specifics may vary. 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM - Individual Doubt Solving. The official meet begins at 3:30 PM. However, we encourage everyone attending to bring their own specific Sudokus/Puzzles that they are stuck in and cannot proceed. If you do bring such Sudokus/Puzzles, we hope to finish them before the official meet begins, so that it doesn't eat into the official schedule. I will be present from 3 PM, to attend to the doubts. 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM - Team Round. As we did in the last meet, we will make groups and solve a team round of Sudokus as separate teams, until one team finishes. 4:15 PM to 4:45 PM - Discussion and application of a difficult Sudoku technique. This is a segment that wasn't there last time. Basically we'll be printing four Sudokus which use the same difficult technique, explain using one of them, then ask everyone to try the rest individually, and they can approach the group if they get stuck. The technique discussed in this meet will be a fairly common one, the X-wing. 4:45 PM to 5:15 PM - Creating a Sudoku variant. As we did in the last meet, we will make groups which ideally have one experienced author + one new author, and focus on a specific category of Sudoku variations to create. In this particular meet, we'll be focusing on Math variants. 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM - Group solving - Sudoku. We'll be solving some selected difficult Sudoku variants (and maybe the odd Classic) in group. 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM - Introduction to a puzzle. For this meet, the puzzle will be Nurikabe. * 2 PM onwards, we will be playing some board games. This has nothing to do with puzzles as such, but people can arrive early if they wish to. The venue is the same as last time - RMZ Infinity, Old Madras Road. Ideally, we'd like people to let us know if they're coming. It'll make it a lot easier for us in terms of planning if we know how many prints to take, how to divide teams, etc.

2021 World Sudoku+Puzzle Convention Organizer Posts: 1780 Location: India | khush - 2015-06-08 4:51 PM Please organize such meets in mumbai also. The meets are easy in Bangalore because we have people who are here who will attend. If you want you can set up a meet with others in Mumbai. I'll try to connect you with the Mumbai Puzzlers I know and you can try to start from there. If you need content for the meet I can help with that too. Drop me an email at prasanna16391@gmail.com. The above goes to anyone interested in organizing a meet in any city.

PR 2020 (Casual and Word) Author Posts: 349 Location: India | Can we start the meet up earlier? I have to be someplace in the evening , so staying beyond 6 is not possible for me. It will be good if we can start at 2.

SM 2020 (Converse and Odd Even) Author Posts: 85 Location: India | I guess reordering activities may help here. E.g. "creating variant" can join "intro to a puzzle" towards the end, so amit can skip them if he has to leave early.

2021 World Sudoku+Puzzle Convention Organizer Posts: 1780 Location: India | I'm in favor of reordering above rescheduling too. Not everyone will read the schedule change, and also some people weren't in favor of 2 PM last time. The "bonus" board games session can be shifted to 2 PM, and we can shift whatever Amit feels he doesn't need to participate in to 6 PM.
