Posts: 8 Location: India | Hi All , I am checking this website from a week ago but just register today. I love playing Sudoku very much. As I get to know that Indian Sudoku Championship 2015 is on 28 Jun its quite a bad news for me,since the champion players who are playing from 5 years or more the time frame for them is very much but players like me who only played Classic Sudoku's before is very short. As I try some test from monthy test section I get best ranked in Unlucky 13 test which is 6 in India with time 45:02 and others test my rank is very bad because of new sudoku variants which I have never seen before. So my request to LMI team is that can ISC 2015 date be shifted if possible to 10 july or later.

So my request to LMI team is that can ISC 2015 date be shifted if possible to 10 july or later. An entire National Championship cannot be shifted because one person is new to variants. Imagine if someone joins LMI on 9th July. Should it then be shifted to 10th August? The best way to look at it is, this will be your first National Championship, so go in with minimal expectations and use it as a learning experience. The National Championships are held annually, so if this year doesn't go that well you have an entire year's time to get better for the next one. I encourage you to participate regularly and try to improve within the year rather than worrying about the top players from the start - its how I went about it when I started.

I guess you are talking about Times Sudoku Championship. If yes, there is no announcement regarding TSC as of now. You can follow the forum if any announcement in this regard is made.

PR 2020 (Casual and Word) Author Posts: 349 Location: India | Sudoku Mahabharat has no bearing on the selection of the Indian team. The team will be selected on the basis of the ISC. But do note that those selected from the ISC will not be sponsored. TSC will be an independent event from which four participants will be sponsored for the WSC. These four participants will include 2 experienced participants and 2 new-comers. Experienced participants are defined as the participants who have previously participated in a WSC.

Posts: 15 Location: India | Hi Amit, What is this 2+2 rule. Shouldn't the best 4 represent India at the WSC & improve our chances of a top-3 finish this year?

Shouldn't the best 4 represent India at the WSC & improve our chances of a top-3 finish this year? The 2+2 rule is for sponsorship. While LMI is in control of A-team selection (as Amit has said, the Indian team will be from ISC), Times as a sponsor will (and in my opinion, should) have a say in who they sponsor. So, the best 4 will be asked to represent India. Its just that that's not necessarily the sponsored team.

Posts: 15 Location: India | So, is the 2+2 rule an idea put forward by TOI? From what I understand, the 4 best finishers in ISC will be India A team. TOI will decide (based on TSC results) who they want to sponsor. The common set of players could be 0,1,2,3,4 (theoretically).
