PR 2020 (Casual and Word) Author Posts: 359 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: India | TOI I spoke to Priya and the entire conversation did not last for more than 2 minutes. She did not express any interest beyond coverage of the event in the newspaper. So we can keep looking for other options and inform TOI at a later date. Also as discussed on the call let us identify what we expect from a media partner. Prasanna you had a couple of ideas, which maybe you could share out here.

2021 World Sudoku+Puzzle Convention Organizer Posts: 2003 ![]() Location: India | Media coverage makes sense if there is something for the average person to come and do at the event, so there are two relevant ideas I can think of. 1. Countries bring their own puzzle books each year. We can set up a scheduled session for the respective authors/representatives to sit at stalls and sell signed copies, and invite the general public to this. 2. We have a Sudoku/Puzzle (I am thinking visual puzzles, etc. that audience will be more aware of) contest via the newspaper and then a lucky draw/random pick system, so that one lucky winner gets to have a photo taken with the eventual World Sudoku Champion and also World Puzzle Champion, and maybe an autograph. We can also use the newspaper to pitch our invite for a small number of students to participate in WSC (I don't feel WPC is a good idea without extensive training) based on some criteria. Lastly, we can advertise our PvP idea (has that been elaborated somewhere here?) through this, and maybe even say that the contest winner from point 2 gets a wildcard entry into it at some point. We can have the PvP on flex sheets (though that will raise the printing costs a lot, I think if we secure good media partners that will play a big role in securing good sponsors too), or have head-cams like past playoffs. Basically, coverage will look better with the playoff format. We can use 2012's videos as a pitch.
