Location: India | It is very unlikely that the Times Sudoku Championship will be held this year.

| In Sudoku Championships, specially the Times ones, is it normal Sudoku 9x9 or the give you the variations one?
Also, I am new to this and want to prepare for competitions and usually play sudoku in a different website, can anyone tell me where I should practice and the best way to move forward.

For question one, going by previous years, there are some (2-4) basic variations in the Times regional rounds, and a good number of variations in the Times National final. In other Sudoku Championships too like Sudoku Mahabharat, ISC, etc., there are a good number of variations. The simple reason for this is these are all competitions leading to the World Sudoku Championship in some way, direct or indirect, and the WSC has a heavy proportion of variations.
The best way to move forward is to practice full contests. Check LMI's downloadable archives - http://logicmastersindia.com/lmitests/downloads.asp, you will have more than enough practice for the foreseeable future. Other than that be active on sites like LMI and the WPF's GP website, gp.worldpuzzle.org. LMI has Sudoku Mahabharat online rounds and other contests that come up through the year, and the WPF's Sudoku GP runs from January to August (there are still 2 rounds you can participate in of the 2017 edition).
You can also join the LMI message group if interested and check if there are local meets in your city and go to those to interact with other solvers. To join the message group you can send me your number either in a personal message or via mail to prasanna16391@gmail.com, and I'll get you added. |

Location: India | With the TSC not happening this year that closes the avenues for team selection for this year. Its unfortunate for those who got to know of this event very late, but you can always try to make it to the team next year, the selection for which will be started in early 2018.

The registration is genuine. Indian Sudoku League was held in December last year and will also be held in December this year.
By the way this has nothing to do with Times Sudoku Championship. |

But harmeet wasn't part of team last. I guess this is based on ISC rankings last year.
So, is harmeet an experienced person according to TOI or not ? |
