I think there is utility in keeping it restricted in case someone wants to verify their solution following the rules, or comment on a solve path - unrestricting individual posts is easy, just a button. |

Is it like a Snake, where (copying from GP rules) "if two cells in the snake touch orthogonally, then they must be exactly one cell apart along the path of the snake, and if two cells in the snake touch diagonally, then they must be exactly two cells apart along the path of the snake"?
Also, there must be only one loop, right? The second to last sentence says "each circle belongs to a loop" (not "the loop").

Your understanding for the loop is correct, it is a snake-like loop.
'A' vs 'the' is just translation issues that I missed, only one loop. |

3: good questrion, and is the Jigsaw puzzle independently unique or is one supposed to find a solution that works for the Pentoloop?
11: What is meant by this "Words should read from left to right and right to left, or top to bottom and bottom to top. " why are and and or used interchangeably? I interpret it as you can only use both directions horizontally, or only vertically.
10: "Does not touch itself" is not ambiguous. Diagonal ?
Pieces can be repeated?
3. At the very top of the page it says "solve two related puzzles".
11. Words can be read in any of the 4 directions, as in the example.
10. The standard rule for the loop: Loop does not touch or intersect itself. In the example, the V pentomino is used twice. In this sense, it is possible to repeat. But there is no third V pentomino among the 14 given pentominoes. Therefore, you cannot use the V pentomino three times. |

You cannot swap FIFIR and RUBIA because the letter R is upside down.
I don't think that happens in the alternative solution.

"Two L or I pentominoes cannot fit entirely in 2 x 5 and 5 x 2 rectangles." This is automatically implied by the immediately preceding statement. So it should be removed to avoid confusion
It is not. In the example, this rule prevents swapping the leftmost L with the bottommost I, because then the first two columns would form a 5x2 rectangle that is filled with two I pentominoes and nothing else |
