I don't think that happens in the alternative solution. Describing it accurately is hard, so here's a link to what it looks like: https://imgur.com/gcIZnre Unfortunately, Russians cannot browse websites with the .com domain. Upon prior request, I was allowed to use only the LMI website. I'll try to explain it without following the link. If you turn the sheet 180 degrees, the letters R become legible (not rotated). Then FIFIR and RUBIA can be entered by looking at the correctly oriented letters R.

And about pb 6, again : If you have 4 aligned points A, B , C, D: is it possible to have segment AC (of length 2) in the line, and later, segment CD (of length 1) also in the line, or is it forbidden, because "segments of the same color do not touch each other)?

If the segments AC and CD lie on the same straight line, then these are segments of the same color. They touch each other at point C, which is prohibited by the rules.

Posts: 79 ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: United States | Puzzle 3-4 answer format: It says both "Use ... X wherever there is a pair of letters in the same cell" and "Write the letters in alphabetical order in the white circles." Is this correct? These two statements seem to conflict with each other.

Moscow Puzzle Cup 2016 Author Posts: 267 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Russia | mstang - 2026-04-21 4:16 PM Puzzle 3-4 answer format: It says both "Use ... X wherever there is a pair of letters in the same cell" and "Write the letters in alphabetical order in the white circles." Is this correct? These two statements seem to conflict with each other. Initially, I suggested specifying pairs of letters in alphabetical order. Prasanna corrected the answer format and suggested specifying X in all cases with paired letters. Please specify X.

Moscow Puzzle Cup 2016 Author Posts: 267 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Russia | anurag - 2026-04-21 4:27 PM Word xyz placed horizontally intersects a vertical word ending in x and a vertical word ending in z and a vertical word starting in y. This breaks the "parallel words must be spaced 1 cell apart" rule. Right? I didn't find such a rule in the booklet.

Posts: 11 Location: France | The four given '4's' can be colored. These clues only refer to the numbers options, not to the paint options. (Interestingly, it seems there is no good way to indicate clues referring to white painting for this puzzle.) Edited by Carlos 2026-04-25 1:02 PM
