In the number search+classic,

(1) Can any of the number strings appear more than once on THE number search grid? Or, should they appear exactly once each?
(2) For THE classic grid, can some (but not all) of the number strings still show up?

In the multiplication sudoku,

Can a number repeat in the 2x2 box e.g. 4x6=24. I guess the rules allow that, but still asking....to be doubly sure

About the format,
These four rounds will be the only rounds and the winner will be by scores or there will be semis/playoffs after these rounds

1) In Number Search grid, same number sequence may appear multiple times.
2) Some of the number sequences may be found in the Classic grid. But not ALL of them can be found in the Classic grid.

3) In multiplication Sudoku digits are allowed to repeat (4X6=24 or 2X6=12) as long as they don't violate classic sudoku rules.

Either case I am fine, if it's fair for all.
This format is likely to reward consistent players, as it is you guys are more experienced in handling this

Need more playoff practice if we are to attend bangkok and singapore tournaments.

What the germans do is that the team is decided on the top 4 of the league rounds but the national champion is decided by the playoffs and finals.

Any specific reason for this format?

The purpose of IPC is to select team for WSC, not to provide practice for Bangkok and Singapore tournaments :-)

Here is one of many reasons - We can have at most 4 hours solving time (considering that lot of players are flying in and flying out same day). If we add playoffs and finals, it will take anywhere between 90~120 minutes. It is not fair that the so much time is reserved only for top x players.

Fair enough. I dont have any idea about any of the commercials or any other constraints. Sorry that my contribution has been nil this year.

Simplest is a google search... but you can check any blog of an international player and you will find examples there :)
