Croco puzzle (www.croco-puzzle.com) is a German puzzle site, where you can solve a surprise puzzle daily. The puzzles include kakuro, tapa, sudoku, masyu, skyscraper, hashi, etc. and can be solved online via a java applet.

They also have a nice rating system in place - the Kyu and Dan system. Kyu means "student grade" and Dan means "teacher level." A beginner starts in 20th Kyu (20K) and then slowly moves towards 1K. From here the Dan grades start - 1D, 2D, and so on upto 9D (theoretically). Currently uvo is the only player in 7D and may reach 9D some day. flooser is the only one in 6D, and there are 29 other players in Dan grades.

Currently I can see three of us who are regulars. Rajesh is ranked ~74th and is in 4K grade. I and Lenson are in 5K grade. I want to see more of us participate regularly on the site.

Unfortunately, the site is in German only. Google translate can deal with the main pages. But the puzzle instructions cannot be translated as they are included with the applet.

There is a discussion thread on the UKPA forum also which explains a lot of the things related to croco puzzle. It can also help you get started.

At http://chris.dreamwidth.org/11676.html you can find a description of the user interface of croco puzzle. (There was a big update of the software yesterday, so the description of the interface may be sometimes a little outdated.

The most rules you can find at http://www.croco-puzzle.com/Basis/umfrage.php where the most popular puzzle types are shown (Beliebtheitsumfrage = popularity poll). The links point to the puzzle wiki of the Logic Masters Germany. For almost all puzzle formats used at croco-puzzle you will find there an english version of the rules following the link to the english version of the wiki page.

http://www.croco-puzzle.com/Benutzerkonto/passwortneu.php should do the job. You need to remember your username.
