In Mumbai and Delhi rounds, there were a few elimination rounds (4 classics / 20 mins) followed by a final round (6 classics + 2 variants / 60 mins) Other details at http://toi.in/sudoku

Posts: 9 Location: India | O.O Mistakes in 4 puzzles!! I was too careless. Thank you for replying though! :) Else I would have thought I had missed solving one whole page when the rankings would have come. Now I guess I would be amongst the last persons or so in the standings.. If only I had spent a few minutes on checking I would have been in a better position..

The priority right now is to complete all the regional rounds and the finals. Will there be a list of Top 10 (or so) participants in each round?

Thank you for replying though! :) Else I would have thought I had missed solving one whole page when the rankings would have come. Now I guess I would be amongst the last persons or so in the standings.. If only I had spent a few minutes on checking I would have been in a better position.. I had mistakes in a total of 3 puzzles (one restarted and re-broken repeatedly until time was up (I did this a lot back then :| )) in 2012. Slowing yourself down a little bit during practice to make sure you're accurate should help.

I have always felt the Delhi article beats all other editions in giving more insights into the winners and more detailed.

Plus, the Mumbai article keeps referring to Amit in plural for some reason. He is either 'Puzzle creators' or 'Puzzle partners'. At least Deb is 'from puzzle partners' ![]()

Most of the top solvers practice throughout the year. There are contests which are very accessible using the LMI Monthly Contest - http://logicmastersindia.com/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=60&st... page or the downloads pages http://logicmastersindia.com/lmitests/downloads.asp?testType=10 which all have archived PDFs of contests with all the details you need to test yourself on them. There are links given on this page to other sites too - http://logicmastersindia.com/home/?g=links . So there is an abundance of content to practice and there are contests like the GP and Mahabharat which run throughout the year. People ask me a lot about how long I practice - the answer is I rarely ever solve a Sudoku outside of competition(I count the dailies as competition)/testing. Even when I was starting out the only Sudoku I have practiced at length is Killer. But I gave time to participating in all the contests I could. As the current Times Champion (at least until 2nd August ![]() This isn't for the one who I quoted in particular, it is a general note for anyone who barely misses out on the regional rounds. Even to The other solvers, you may have the potential and just not know it and in general these contests are free and fun, so its a win-win situation.
