Next is What? Of course Mock 21.

I was creating Puzzles for "Sudoku Mock 21". One of the puzzles which I created was of the type "Guess the number in the series Sudoku" whose Instructions read as below.
This Sudoku type follow the standard Sudoku rules plus some of the squares will be grayed which can contain numbers from the given series. All but one numbers in the series will be given. One has to find the missing number and then solve the Sudoku.

During the testing it was found that it was difficult to find the number in the series. So I decide to drop this puzzle type from the mock test and instead of this all the numbers in the series will be given. These Number series I have posted below for your reference

http://wpcstylepuzzles.blogspot.com/2010/04/next-is-what.html

Do put your comments guessing the number which will come next in the series along with your logic.

Most of my puzzles for Mock 21 will be series puzzles with all the number given in the series. I will post the instructions for these puzzles soon once testing for these puzzles is done.

Hi Rajesh,

I put my guesses about the numbers which will come next and commented about my logic about that. Later on I thought that it would be better if I only wrote my guesses and didn't explain the logic behind them. Sorry for that:( But I may be wrong about some of my guesses. I think all series are designed well and this is a very creative sudoku type:)

Regards,

Zafer

And another sorry for posting the comment about Series 4 twice:( I waited about a while after posting that. But it didn't appear like the previous ones. I thought I made a mistake and reposted my last comment and this time it is displayed twice...

Sudoku booklet can be downloaded now from mock21 page.

This will be an easy mock (after a long time!) and I expect lot of players to achieve bonus points.

Grrr - I finished all puzzles, only to make a complete hash out of entering the answers. Apparently, 'move as you type' is a little too advanced for me....lol -- 3 more minutes would have done the trick. Fun puzzles, though. Thanks, dave

Happy to see an easy set of puzzles.
The puzzles also seemed simpler because most of them had a common theme.
Thanks for the puzzles Rajesh and thanks to Nikola for the testing. Good to end the last mock of the season without any glitches.
After the WSC we will be starting a Monthly Sudoku Series. Deb will give more details on this in a different thread.

Hopefully the last mock will be a confidence booster for everyone participating at the WSC.
Best of luck guys!!

I really liked this mock - short and sweet. Thanks Rajesh.

Also thanks to Nikola who immediately agreed to pre-test. FYI, he took 32 odd minutes to solve the set, which means he would have lot of bonus too and would have been in the top 10.

how do I give the mock test?

Mock tests were held way back in 2010, and after that contest formats have been changed. Present trend is, Puzzle & Sudoku Contests every month. Recently a big series of contest called "Sudoku Mahabharat" was ended. Presently no contest is ongoing, but I believe some new contests will be up soon. Keep checking the website and Forum, any new contest will be announced in the Website home page.
