In Touching Pentominoes, should all Pentominoes be necessarily connected? Or can there be Pentominoes which are not linked at all? In the example given, all Pentominoes are connected through the corners.

Not all Pentos are necessarily connected; free floating pentos might occur.

As always the case when writing a test, I have made a few puzzles more than necessary. The leftovers will be published in the portal of LM Germany in the coming days, following the schedule:
Sunday: Pentopia
Monday: Pentomino Yajilin
Tuesday: - (Sudoku Variants Series-day)
Wednesday: Pentomino Word Search
Thursday: Mini Pento Loops
Friday: Pentapa

By providing these practise puzzles, I hope everyone can have a decent preparation for the test, to enjoy it even more! :)

Meanwhile the last practise puzzle has been posted in the portal of LM Germany. You can find Pentapa here. I hope the practise puzzles have triggered you enough to participate!

I wish all participants good luck and a few fun hours.

How balanced do you think the puzzle types of this test were? Perfectly balanced
What was your opinion of the distribution of easy/hard puzzles? Too many medium difficult puzzles
What did you think about the puzzle quality of the test? Very nice
How did you feel about the length / time limit for this test? A bit too many puzzles
Of the puzzles you solved/attempted, how well did the point values reflect the difficulty? Most puzzles were worth the right amount
What was your opinion of the booklet formatting and printing? Just right

I love monothematic contests and here I found many great puzzles. The best for me was the harder Pento In The Box even though I do not like this puzzle type. Thanks Richard!

Thanks, that was fun!

Points per time did vary quite a bit, but that's probably just me sucking at Sum Pentominos...

It was a very nice test. I mean very very nice. Also I overally like pentomino puzzles, so I really enjoyed them. There was right amount of puzzles - I didn't expect to finish anyway, so - it's perfect. Actually I didn't practice too for it, so no big expectations.
There was a small thing with the points distribution, but I take that as my personal opinion and skills - so, also it was nicely done.
And there were some very enjoyable ones too.

Big thanks.

I can see a lot of work put in to make this happen.
Good to have the practise puzzles before the contest too, you're very productive!
Thanks, Richard.

Key component of this test being enjoyable was that reflections were always allowed. I hate checking for that. Thanks for the test!

I have been a big fan of pentominos since I met the pentomino puzzle at elementary school. Though I could not manage Sums and Loops in time, it was really fun solving those puzzles again - with lots and lots of new types of them!
