Posts: 17 Location: United Kingdom | The main problem I've had with the Tapa player is in fact exactly that I can't erase squares reliably. When I click on them there is a ~50% chance whether they empty or stay filled. Doesn't this affect everyone? I've only used Chrome, but I can't be the only one. I also had to stop using the different colours because for whatever reason I found them so different in hue that my eye didn't "see" 2x2s or notice whether they were connected together - I've made literally hundreds of incorrect submissions. :)

Yes even I have this issue, thought it was a mistake probably on my side for not clicking on the cell properly. Even I use chrome. Regards, Ravi

Fillomino-Fillia 2 Author Location: United States | Also using chrome and have the same issue. That was the cause of the only 2-minute penalty I've gotten; it was my last click in that region and I instantly shifted my attention somewhere else without noticing the click hadn't gone through. The reliable method I've found since is to right-click on the square twice, which changes it into a dot and then to an empty square.

Thank you :) I guess almost everyone knows my big goal by now. Glad I achieved it, and a bit relieved after all those close ones. Of course there's still that possibility while the 72 hours are going, but I think I've done it. Seems I'm finishing the competition strongly.

Posts: 315 Location: The Netherlands | So, today was the day I messed up both my chances of finishing top 3 in the TVC and CTC in one go. Any chance I can erase today and start over?

Posts: 29 Location: United Kingdom | Is today really the last one? What a horrible time to finish on from me! I think I can safely say that I won't be jumping up the leader board at the last minute, so congratulations to James for being the top UK competitor. Thanks to Serkan for the puzzles. It did go on a little too long imho, but that's probably just me feeling bitter that after a few weeks (well, days) it became clear that I had no chance of making the top 3. I would've preferred 2 separate competitions of half the length (or, perhaps, 4 fortnightly contests, with each one finishing on the date of a TVC and getting progressively more difficult...)

Posts: 114 Location: India | I will miss the routine daily morning test henceforth . I am a first timer and was able to submit answers to all but 1st april one when i had network issues and unable submit my answer. Any way great test, expecting more like this from LMI.

Posts: 7 Location: United States | Thank you all so much! This was great fun. I will miss this - hope you'll have the willingness and energy to do this again. I loved the online solving and the mix of puzzles. I hope the puzzles will remain online new puzzlers to tackle and for us to practice on. Is that possible? And now if you "review" a puzzle, clear, and re-solve it, you can not check your answer. Would it be possible to change that at some point? I don't mean to be asking for so much - you all deserve a good rest. My main point in writing is just to thank you for a great time. Bravo!

I nearly fell off my chair when I saw that in the standings. So close... a 49-day run is still extremely impressive though.

Location: India | MellowMelon - 2012-04-02 10:44 AM So on last 2 days' puzzle, deu topped on one and got penalty on another. He did neither in previous 48 days :wink:deu - 2012-04-01 6:05 PM Thanks for a great test! And I submitted a wrong answer for the first time in the last puzzle! Location: India | EMJ - 2012-04-02 10:29 AM Thank you very much for the kind words. At this point, we don't have any daily contests lined up. That certainly is not because of lack of motivation or willingness. It is mainly to find a proper puzzle type and an occasion. Equally importantly, we realize that there were some technical hiccups (mentioned multiple times in forum), even if they were minor. So we'll try to do better in that front next time. Thank you all so much! This was great fun. I will miss this - hope you'll have the willingness and energy to do this again. I loved the online solving and the mix of puzzles. Once CTC is over, you will be able to solve and check solved/unsolved puzzles.

Location: India | Nilz - 2012-04-02 2:52 AM That is an interesting idea. We definitely hadn't imagined running CTC that way. Thanks to Serkan for the puzzles. It did go on a little too long imho, but that's probably just me feeling bitter that after a few weeks (well, days) it became clear that I had no chance of making the top 3. I would've preferred 2 separate competitions of half the length (or, perhaps, 4 fortnightly contests, with each one finishing on the date of a TVC and getting progressively more difficult...) If I'm allowed to break it up now, and just post fortnightly scores, here is how they will look like (CTC_breakup.png) Attachments ---------------- CTC_breakup.png (27KB - 6 downloads)

Posts: 315 Location: The Netherlands | Hmmm, I think something is wrong with the standings. I mean, I'll happily take third place, but Nyuta's and Psyho's scores of the last day weren't incorporated.

Posts: 5 Location: United States | A great test indeed! Many quality puzzles, with a surprising lack of stagnation.Rather than routine, quickly became a highlight of each day. I hope we see more like this in the future.
