WSPC Organizer Posts: 739 Location: India | Why is Thomas Snyder named as 'Snyder' if all others are named with their 1st names? Why not enter all surnames too? (I dont think it requires too much space)

WSPC Organizer Posts: 739 Location: India | Or maybe you can keep it as: Thomas S, Jason Z, Jakub O, Nikola Z, Rishi P, Rakesh R, etc. But I would still prefer with the surname.

Diagonal Vision Author Posts: 337 Location: Switzerland | debmohanty - 2010-09-28 4:02 PM Fred76 - 2010-09-28 4:00 PM Sorry Fred. But you have already started participating in puzzle tests. I hope you enjoy the upcoming puzzle tests. I think I should take time to solve quietly some puzzles before doing puzzles tournament, as I did with sudoku. At the beginning, it doesn't help to have time pressure. I need time to really understand logic of each puzzle. there aren't lot of puzzles with which I'm quite comfortable to try to be fast on solving (sudoku of course, kakuro, skyscrapers... all these things that looks like sudoku ) But the problem is: when I have time, I prefer doing sudoku rather than other puzzles

Sudoku Day Author Posts: 103 Location: Serbia | Yes, but don't worry, chess knowledge or experience doesn't need to solve puzzles. It is enough to know the movement of pieces, and I think that everyone knows.

Location: India | That was all in 2012 from LMI. Hope you enjoyed and had fun throughout the year. We'll start year 2013 with "Best of LMI" contests, but before that we will check some statistics about 2012, like we did last year. So stay tuned.

SM 2020 (Math) Author Posts: 419 Location: India | So a slight recollect at the end of the year 2012 from a personal perspective.Introduced to this site by a friend of mine during May, IPC 2012 was the first puzzle test that i planned to take..Due to some reason or the other i could not. Then after taking part in TIMES sudoku championship in july my interest in sudokus began to grow manifold...From being literally a no solver in sudokus to a medium solver to a confident solver i thank LMI fully for the improvement that i have got...A site that is so well administered with prim and proper replies to any queries be it sudokus or puzzles. Earlier 70 - 80 % of my free time would be spent playing chess in chesscube a site that i was crazy about and analyzing the positions with powerful chess engines. Now situations have reversed to such an extent that the site that i used to frequent and moderated is rarely visited nowadays!!Such is the interest that LMI has managed to give me in sudokus and puzzles.. I realise the transition that i have gone through because of the prompt replies i got through from the stuck sudokus..That was the period where i feel i improved a lot solving wise .My scores doubled every month after September beginner's.The good thing about LMI is that you can learn as much as you enjoy. I once again thank LMI for the wonderful time it provided me this year and a happy christmas and an advance happy new year to all LMI members.I wish 2013 for LMI turns out to be a bumper success just as 2012 was !!!!
