Hahaha! Now I understand the whole point of the "parallel universe" thing! This is probably going to be my favorite birthday present this year :) Thanks so much Prasanna!

In similar eggs, it says 0 or 1 white circles, so does that mean two given white circles cant be in same island ?

Yes, no two white circles are on the same island, according to my interpretation. (Otherwise Prasanna should have written "white cells cannot be passed by the snake" period, without saying anything about the number of them in an island.)

I still don't understand. :( From what I see, the two tests simply have a common theme, but what other point?

Hello,
This new contest looks very exciting. But as I am a beginner, I can only hope to solve 3 or 4 problems in the allotted time. Is it possible, for this contest as for the other ones, to provide a decreasing system of points, encouraging to continue to look for other problems after the end of the planned 121 minutes? Thank you in advance.

Is it your birthday on 25th? Either way, I'm glad that this has been timed as such for you. :)

a question about STILO

all BLACK cells are connected to each other. Should the WHITE cells be connected as well?

No. The rules are the same as in normal LITS.

For some examples (Inversed LITS):

In STILO should the adjacent shapes be different from each other when touched orthogonal.

Yes.
The base rules are - When two “shapes” (tetrominoes formed by a group of 4 continuous cells) in adjacent regions
share an edge, they must not be of the same type, regardless of rotations or reflections.

In LITS, the shapes must be formed by shaded cells within a region and in STILO, by unshaded cells, but in both, the shaded cells must be connected throughout the grid.

Note about Practice - The Kakuro probably needs a 40 clue on Row 2 to work logically. The new PDF will be uploaded in a while, with the change.

For Akichiwake, there is this line in the rules - There need not be an area equal to this value, the only restriction is there can be no area larger than the
value connected within the region.

The region can basically work without any number but I put in the 9 to illustrate this sentence. The number just shows that there cannot be a white area larger than that.

In Practice,
Akichiwake, r6c3 is not 9 but 7?

The number given is not necessarily reached.

Whee, some seriously other-universly types here. When I saw the Heyawake variant rules I thought at least it can't be as weird as Hayeweka, but it feels almost as twisted when solving. Thanks for the practice puzzles, by the way! (Is that Kakuro de Ni-keta insanely hard by any chance?)

I think that type is inherently gonna be hard most of the time, unless the author makes a real effort towards simplifying things (giving more two-cell sums, etc. in the layout, or obviously low sums, neither of which "that" Prasanna did here extensively ). But yes, this one's a bit hard, and good practice for the high pointer on the test, I feel.

Also, hope you have the changed version with the 40 sum in R2. Just checking to make sure.
